Customer terms

Acceptable Use Policy

This policy is part of the ipvolt Terms of Service. It applies to everything done through ipvolt proxies, devices, the dashboard and the API, including by anyone you give access to.

What ipvolt is for

Lawful work that needs real network locations: collecting publicly available data, price and availability monitoring, ad and search-result verification, localisation and quality testing, testing apps and accounts on mobile networks, and research. You are responsible for following the law and any terms that bind you when you access a website or service.

Not allowed

You must not use ipvolt to:

  1. Break the law where the activity takes place or has effect, or help someone else do so.
  2. Commit fraud: payment or card fraud, account takeover, credential stuffing or password spraying, phishing, identity theft, fake reviews or engagement passed off as genuine, ad or click fraud, or abuse of bonuses and promotions.
  3. Gain unauthorised access: sign in to accounts or systems you are not authorised to use, bypass authentication or paywalls, exploit vulnerabilities, or scan or probe systems without their owner's permission.
  4. Attack or overload services: denial-of-service, traffic floods, or request rates you know or should know will degrade a site.
  5. Send unsolicited messages: spam by email, SMS, messaging apps, comments or forms.
  6. Distribute harmful content: malware, botnet command and control, child sexual abuse material, content that incites violence, or material that infringes copyright or trademarks.
  7. Collect personal data unlawfully, or collect data that is not publicly available without authorisation.
  8. Evade sanctions or export controls, or provide ipvolt to sanctioned persons or territories.
  9. Resell or share access to devices or proxies with anyone outside your own business without our written agreement.
  10. Interfere with ipvolt: try to access other customers' devices or data, bypass limits, tamper with the devices or SIMs behind the service, or attack our infrastructure or our partner's.

How we enforce this

  • We do not monitor the content of your traffic. Mobile proxy traffic goes directly to the device and does not pass through our servers. For metered proxies we record usage volumes and times, not destinations or content.
  • We act on abuse reports, on information from our infrastructure partner, carriers and authorities, and on signs of misuse we see while operating the service.
  • Depending on severity, we may warn you, rotate or stop a device, suspend or close your account, and refuse future service. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to immediate suspension, and rentals stopped for a breach are not refunded.
  • We share information with authorities when the law requires it, and with our infrastructure partner when needed to deal with abuse on its network. See the Privacy notice.
  • Enforcement decisions are made by people, not by automated systems. If you disagree with a decision, write to hello@ipvolt.com; we review it and reply within 30 days.
